“ Came across this place and didn't know what to expect. I was genuinely surprised. When I first walked in I was surprised, it was a very nice looking restaurant inside. They separated the restaurant where one side is all regular tables and the other side was hibachi. Currently I have not tried the hibachi. I ordered many things off the menu to try and I must say most were very good. I did really like the soup dumplings. Very well made and delicious. I enjoyed the double cooked pork which is one of my favorite dishes in general and they really make it good here. Also I liked the fact that each main dish seems to include a bowl of white rice. The menu and placing the order was through a tablet which is nice. You select all the items you want and send it to the kitchen. Food comes pretty soon after so wait time is not bad. If you are in the area this place is worth a try. Will need to return to give hibachi a try. ”
“ First time here and I will be back again!!! It was amazing, food was delicious and fresh. The servers bring everything out and it's so quick. You order from an iPad and send your order to the kitchen which is great, being able to see what different dishes are available. The space is very clean and well lit. I cannot wait to be back ! ”
“ As a dumpling lover, I had to try this place when I saw it passing by the area. I was definitely not disappointed. I loved the inside as it was spacious and nicely decorated. I also enjoyed ordering on the iPad , because it lets you customize and add things while you're eating. The food was amazing, I came for the soup dumplings and I am so glad I did. I will be back! ”
“ Food is very delicious, great portions! I recommend the crab soup dumplings - so juicy! Also the chili fish fillet, I didn't expect it to be that spicy , very well done along with the beef & green peppers! I didn't enjoy the hainese chicken that much. It's a really large space with amazing attentive staff! ”
“ I love that this restaurant opened in this area. There are very few Asian restaurants specifically around here and this is a great addition. It used to be a sushi and hibachi restaurant but it's changed to Chinese cuisine with hibachi. Inside is well decorated and there's even a glass window facing 5e outside where you can see the soup dumplings being made. I've dined in once for hibachi prior to the change and again in this new restaurant and I do think it's gotten better. The hibachi chefs are entertaining and portions are good. Even if you're getting hibachi, you can also order from their regular menu which is what we did. The food tastes as good as what you'd get from Chinese restaurants in Queens. The soup dumplings were juicy, flavors for their dishes were great. Honestly, pretty good. I've also gotten take out here a few times (and will continue to do so) and it's always solid. It does taste authentic and they have a good variety of items on their menu from small dim sum dishes to full family-style sharing dishes. ”
“ Had an absolutely lovely time here tonight. Space is large and bright. Not loud at all. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Ordering is done via iPad which I enjoy as it makes for a more seamless experience. We started with the Woodear mushrooms, corn soup and scallion pancakes. All were fantastic! Especially enjoyed the mushrooms. The sauce resembled that of mapo tofu which I love!! We also ordered a bunch of dumplings which were all super fluffy and flavorful. There were not dense at all, perfect amount of dough to filling ratio. So glad we came here, will absolutely be back. This is a new favorite for sure! ”
“ I've been here twice and I have nothing bad to say! Amy and Henny took care of me and my friend during our visits. They deserve a raise because their customer service is hard to find! This is a long review so here's the short version: DD dumpling = very good. This is the long version of my review: Of course, I'll no longer be going back to queen for dimsum because DD Soup Dumpling & Hibachi has now my new spot! I'm very happy they serve dimsum throughout their hours of operation because I don't know about y'all but I sometimes crave soup dumplings late at night! The restaurant is very clean, doesn't have a greasy/oily odor, and has wonderful and attentive staff members! The interior is nicely decorated. It can be loud at times depending how busy it is but the noise level is normal. You let the host know what you're going to order. Of course, I chose dimsum. Once you're seated, you order through the tablet on the table. The waiter will come and confirm and push the order through. I highly recommend their soup dumplings. They're quite delicious. If someone were to ask me to describe them, I'd say their delicious pockets of joy that pops in your mouth.. that can burn if you do that! Don't do that.. Eat them the traditional way. Their soup dumpling has tasted the same the both times I've visited (and ordered). I've tried their fried udon with beef (ordered) and I was quite impressed! If you love "mala", then you gotta try their dan dan noodles! It's not spicy at all if you have a good tolerance. Both of these noodle dishes weren't salty and seasoned perfectly. The scallion pancakes were good but I'll say their pancake slice with beef is even better! The pan fried pork bun is really nice as well. Now, I've gotta tell you about their lava sesame balls... they were EXQUISITE! Tasty. Flavorful. LUSCIOUS! We ended up ordering another serving! I don't do salted eggs because I'm trying to watch my sodium intake. This sesame ball was not salty at all! It had the perfect combination of savory and sweet. I really hope this isn't a seasonal item because my friend and I will cry. When you cut into it, the filling truly melts like lava. I love the concept. I enjoy the flavor profile! I highly recommend you give DD Soup Dumpling & Hibachi a try. ”
“ So excited that we can get soup dumplings without schlepping into Flushing, Queens! Is it the BEST soup dumplings?... definitely not, but still pretty good for Long Island. Also, as expected, the prices are slightly higher here on Long Island but it's still a great option for the neighborhood. The restaurant is super clean and inviting. Customer service is friendly, inviting and attentive. They have a parking lot right outside of the restaurant. Their menu is on an iPad, and you order yourself. Super easy. After you've placed your order someone will come to your table to confirm your order. Before you know it, your food will start arriving! Enjoy! Again, what a great option for Long Island! Even though the prices are higher than Queens prices, it's still a great option for the days you just don't want to travel so far for good food. Welcome to the neighborhood! Note: one side of the restaurant is for ordering via their iPad menu but the other side of the restaurant is for Hibachi dining. ”
“ Not only is their hibachi delicious and full of fun chef tricks, but they also serve amazing casual Asian dishes. And their soup dumplings--hands down the best I've ever had! They're made fresh every single day (not frozen!) and you can even watch the magic happen through the window. Also they are open on THANKSGIVING DAY and From Nov 28 - Dec 1 , Kids under 12 yrs old eat hibachi FREE--so bring the whole family for an unforgettable meal. The vibe here is cozy yet beautiful, the food is always on point, and the chefs will keep you entertained the entire time. Whether you're craving hibachi or just want some great dumplings, DD Hibachi has you covered. Follow @spinx17 for more NYC food recs! ”
“ We have been to the Times Square location which is a nice option after a Broadway show because they are open late and you don't to eat pizza. We were happy to hear they opened a location on LI. Located across Home Depot on Jericho Tpke, it is a spacious and bright restaurant with plenty of parking. There is a picture window by the entrance where you can watch them make dumplings. Ordering is done on a tablet and the server comes over to confirm your order. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, scallion pancakes and the kitchen lunch special of chicken lo mein and chicken corn soup. The soup dumpling skin wasn't thick and decent amount of soup. Our dishes were tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. I have family coming in for the holidays so we'll have to try it again! ”
